February is PLAYOFF time for all the high school winter sports. It is my least favorite month to have an Athletic Director for a husband--at least at Broomfield where EVERY team goes to state. :) Broomfield already won a state championship last weekend in Wrestling, and now it is hoops time, where both BHS teams will fair well in the playoffs. HOWEVER, Centaurus has a good girls basketball team this year as well, and Carson and I have attended all of the home games and will continue to support our Lady Warriors through the playoffs.
Here is Carson getting ready to cheer on the girls. He always says "hi" to JJ (Jeff) and Crystal at the games, and he hangs out with Chad's parents because I announce and sit at the scorer's table. (Yes, I am still the scorekeeper even after Mike is no longer coaching--because Crystal is the coach)

Ken Ebersole and I have been working together since Mike was the Head Coach--he runs the clock and I keep the book. And I am not too shy to say that WE ARE GOOD!!!
Here is the Lady Warriors team during their last regular season home game. Jeff is the JV coach, but he sits on the bench during varsity games.
During the last home game, Crystal spoke with the opposing coach about putting one of our senior players in the game who injured her knee at the beginning of the season and didn't get to play at all during her senior year. In the 4th quarter, Sergie (#11) went in the game to a standing ovation from the crowd, and the other team (who was getting blown out) didn't guard her so she could score a basket as a senior. It was SO COOL! This is what high school sports are all about. I was glad to be a part of it!
At the end of every home game victory, the team goes to the middle of the gym floor and sings the school song. It is a tradition that Crystal started when she became the head coach. Well, it has caught on like wildfire, and now everyone comes down from the stands and sings together. Again--it is pretty special.
CHS plays in the sweet sixteen this Thursday, and I am excited about the possibilities for our team. It is very likely that we will face BROOMFIELD in the state championship if we get that far...
I guess the question is--where will CARSON sit? :)
2) Carson is branching out JUST a little bit--he loves to watch the opening "Circle of Life" song in the movie "The Lion King". As soon as the song ends, he claps and moves on to play with something else. Grandpa Lowe refinished this rocking chair that he loves to sit in. :)
3) Daddy bought Carson a new slide. He will literally go up and down this slide 25 times, laughing hysterically. This is just good people-watching time for me! :)
4) Carson is starting to get attached to some of his stuffed animals, although there isn't one in particular that he favors all the time. In this picture, he is reading some books to "Puppy" and "Mimi" the penguin. It is fun to watch him start to play make believe--his imagination is already amazing!
5) Take naps--Carson is still a great sleeper, and there are times when Mommy and Daddy take advantage of nap time at the same time that Carson does.
