We will miss you, Broomfield Eagles!

Broomfield had a going-away party for Mike now that he is going to be an Assistant Principal at Angevine Middle School. It was really neat. There were 40+ people that came to wish him well and give a toast to the work he did in the past four years as Athletic Director at Broomfield High School. I documented the event with pictures of him with every coach, but for the purposes of this blog I have chosen just a few of my favorites.

Charlene Orvis is the Athletic secretary. She and Mike worked closely together, and she is absolutely amazing at her job. She is a wonderful person as well. Mike will miss working with her on a daily basis, but I know that we will stay in touch. :) I love this picture of Mike and Charlene.
I thought it was really nice that many of the other Boulder Valley Athletic Directors came to acknowledge Mike. The A.D.'s from Monarch, Fairview, and the current AND former AD's from Nederland all came. How cool!

In this picture, Gary Davies (the football coach) and Ginger Ramsay (the Principal) are saying some kind words about Mike. The school also gave Mike a really nice commemorative wall plaque thanking him for his time and service to Broomfield. It was really neat.

And at times, got a little emotional...

Broomfield is such a great school with amazing people. I know Mike will miss them dearly, and I know that we will attend Broomfield events next year to stay in touch. Obviously, Mike will be missed as well--and it was really touching that they went to the trouble of throwing a party for him. :) GO EAGLES!

More bizarre Colorado weather...

UPDATE: This storm damaged our roof so severely that we have to file an insurance claim and get a new roof! Fun, fun, fun...

First Tornados, now HAIL. This storm was intense, and it literally looked like there was snow on the ground when it was all said and done!

A few weeks later, some of my neighbors have had their roofs looked at and there is considerable damage. It looks like we will have to do the same. It will be amazing if our roof is totaled after this storm. You need to calm down, Mother Nature!

Summer is the time to hang out with the people you love and have fun with. Here are a few pics of some fun times hangin out with our friends:

Sarina's Baby Shower--I am so excited that Sarina and Cisco are expecting a baby in September! I hosted a baby shower for her on June 14th. Here we are--"Little Buddies" :)
Here, Sarina is opening presents--and she is holding the Diaper Bag that I gave her that also doubled as the "Memory Game" at the shower. I usually HATE games at showers, but this one was pretty cool, and Sarina walked away with a fully-loaded Daiper Bag in the end!

I am a huge fan of CUPCAKES. Some would say they are the same as cake...but I have to disagree. There is just something about cupcakes! This was the centerpiece at Sarina's shower, along with all the fixin's for cheese and chocolate fondue. It worked out great!

Whenever possible, Carson and I go to the park. There is a great park in Thornton that we love, and in this picture, Carson is going down the slide all by himself with NO HELP for the first time! He is apprehensive in this picture, but it wore off fast and he must have gone down the slide 25 more times after that...

We like to meet up with friends at the park. Brody and Elaina are tons of fun!

We again have a season pass at the Denver Zoo. It is SO worth it! We try to go as often as possible, and Carson's current phase is HIPPOS. He loves them. He even said "goodbye Monkeys--Hippos!" on this trip! It is almost nap time in this picture...

We had a picnic at the zoo with our friends. Sarina, Carson and myself sat at a table...

Jason, Molly, Tyler, and Kasey Crispin sat at another table...

And Susan & Sage Davis sat with us as well! Susan and I taught at CHS together before she moved down to Littleton. It was fun to meet up with her at the zoo and catch up a little :)
