Yes, I am beaming with pride because my nephew Collin is keeping the running tradition in the family as he qualified for the Colorado Cross Country Championships as a FRESHMAN. Yes, I know, he is a "D.R." as I used to say (he is a distance runner)...but it is still SO FUN to watch him compete and see how truly talented he is. Of course the whole family made the trip up to Fort Collins to watch the state meet. Here is Collin in the middle of his race:

Kevin and I ran all over the course trying to catch a glimpse of Collin during the race. It was quite fun to run around--and I was actually nervous during the race! I can't wait for track season :). Here is Proud Papa Kevin--he does so much for Collin. Mike and I really enjoy hanging out with Kevin and Collin because they are such good buddies and do so many fun things together.

Here is the start of the race. It is pretty much "every man for themselves", and it was much more exciting than I even thought it would be!

Carson was perfectly happy to hang out with Grandma while we ran around wildly to different spots watching for Collin. They had some prime seats right near the finish line! I'm not quite sure how Grandpa managed to stay out of all the pictures, but he was there too. :)

Carson just loves to be around people and in the mix of whatever is going on. This will be a good thing as he is the child of an Athletic Director and a Teacher, and there are ALWAYS people around and things to see!

Carson had some great quality time with Daddy while Kevin and I ran around the course. Mike is so savvy--wearing his Broomfield colors to cheer on his teams at the same time when we really came up to watch Collin. Heh heh heh. "Bones" just loves to hang out with his Daddy!

I love this picture.

Collin ran very well and scored points for his team! Of course he lettered this year, and he has a lot to be proud of. After the race, we chatted for a bit and I made sure to get a good picture of Kevin and Collin to commemorate the event:

It doesn't seem that long ago when he was just a little kid--and now he is in high school and such a great person. I really can't wait to see what else the future holds for him in the next few years. It was really fun to go watch him compete and I can't wait for Track and Field in the Spring.

Great job, Collin!
