A happy day for one of my students

Last night we went down to the Pepsi Center in Denver to watch the Colorado Wrestling State Championships. I am not a huge wrestling fan, but this event is actually pretty exciting to watch. I like how they set up four mats and go through all the weight classes in the 2A-5A classifications.

Another reason that I have been motivated to watch a little wrestling is because of a student I have who has made the finals for the past 2 years. Last year, he lost the state championship in the last SECOND of the match. It was hard to watch. This year, he is a state champion! I am so proud of him and happy for him!

Dominic is on the left, and he is celebrating with another great CHS student named Garrett Lanham who also won last night. I love it when good things happen to good people!
This is a great picture of Dominic in his argyle socks that he wrestles in. He says that he wears them because "they are business socks, and he is all about business on the mat". I call that STYLE :).
Dominic needed this success in his life and I am so happy for him. It was a fun night!
