Pompano Beach, Florida 7/18-7/25

Why Pompano Beach, you ask? This should explain:

Mike and I vacationed at this resort before, and we saw a big sea turtle lay eggs on the beach, and we saw hundreds of little baby turtles hatch and make their way to the ocean. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen! On this trip, we saw lots of turtle egg nests, but unfortunately no turtles hatched when we were here. Bummer!

This is where we stayed. We had a 2-story condo with 2 balconies, and this is what we looked at for a week. We played in the pool or ocean, and took naps--pretty much everyday. It was wonderfully uneventful.

Carson is a seasoned traveler, although I don't want to talk about the first 1 1/2 hours of the plane ride when he was crying his eyes out and I thought I was going to go insane...

No one fell down this staircase while we were here. I was amazed, actually--because it was kind of scary!!

Carson slept great in this crib in our room. We kept him on his schedule as much as possible, which was easy since we hung out at the resort most of the time.

We did go to the beach at Ft. Lauderdale for a day--it was so fun to introduce Carson to the beach/ocean. He is a little water-baby!

I must admit that Carson and I did some shopping in Lauderdale as well...

Here we are again in the ocean in Lauderdale. Carson did love it--everything but getting hit right in the face with a big wave!

We made time everyday to watch for the Goodyear Blimp that flew up and down the coastline. Carson LOVED the blimp, and it did not disappoint--it flew by every single day!

We love to frolick in the ocean!!!

And we love to hang out and swim in the pool! Jeff, Bob, & Big John (our extended family :) ) vacationed with us again, and you could have pretty-much taken this picture on any of the days that we were there...

Mommy and Carson enjoying the pool with his floatie. He would stay in the water for hours if we let him. He ate, swam, napped, ate again...and the circle of life just continued all day long!

We went to a nice seafood restaurant and walked the pier on the last night we were in Florida. Carson was SO CLOSE to walking when we were on vacation...

This is my favorite picture of the whole trip. Carson on Daddy's shoulders, walking the Pier, ballon tied to his wrist--LIFE IS JUST SO GOOD. :)

We had another great vacation, and this one is even more special because Carson is here to enjoy things with us. We will definitely come back to this resort at some point for more relaxation and beach fun. Hopefully--the turtles will hatch next time!

Oh--and the plane ride home was GREAT. Carson didn't cry at all. Phew!
