The Shellbergs come back to the Culd-de-sac!

Dawn, Jere, and the kids came back to the neighborhood for a few weeks in July. They moved to Cleveland, OH in March because Jere got a huge job promotion, and it was really hard to see them leave after being neighbors right across the street for 6 years. We had a great time when they came back to visit. It was like they had never left; we went to the pool, and hung outside, and of course we had a huge Culd-de-sac bash!
The nice thing about living in a culd-de-sac is the built-in space that kids have to run around, and the lack of overall traffic. We barbequed out front, and ended the night with smores made from the chimnea.
We live in such a great neighborhood! Summers are always full of memories with kids running around everywhere--and adults doing the same thing, I guess. :)

The Shellbergs were famous for their jumping castle at all of the neighborhood events, so we made sure that we had one during their visit. I am a personal fan of ANY jumping castle!

It wouldn't be a normal gathering if we didn't play for the Ping Pong Championship of the World...or just the Round Robin game that we always play. In this picture, Joe, Jett, and Jeff are getting the table warmed up...
Maryn and Carson spent some good quality time together. We put them in a cage-match first, and they enjoyed each other's company a lot. At one point, Carson was standing on Maryn to get better leverage to get out--but she didn't seem to mind!!
What a cutie!!
Nobody looks happy in this picture--but I still like it. :)

Awwww. It's like they are betrothed. Maryn is giving Carson some pats...
Here are the neighborhood girls--it just isn't quite the same without Dawn here all the time!!
We are planning a visit to Cleveland during the first part of December to check out the new Shellberg hangouts. It was hard to see them leave--but this is just a reminder of how much we love them as friends. :)
